How to Download Instagram photos on your pc. You can save images to your PC or Mac from any modern browser without installing any tool.

It indeed feels great to be writing my first blog post since I created my hashnode account. Well, I will be writing about how to download photos from Instagram to your PC or Mac.

Knowing that Instagram is a repository for pictures, it occurred to me that developers looking to land a job in tech might want to create a website and need some specific pictures for their sample projects. These pictures might not be readily available through google search, hence, the reason for this post. Credits to Quincy Larson who wrote about this previously in 2019, but Instagram has since changed their directory

So, let's get to business.

Step1: Locate the Instagram picture you want to download

Click the image you want to bring up its preview modal.

You will notice that the address of the image is changed in your address bar from the person's Instagram username to something like this instagram.com/p/#########.

When you click on an image on Instagram, you will notice that every image has its unique URL address. This makes us able to get each image.

Step 2: Paste the highlighted URL in the image above in a separate browser tab.

Right-click on the and choose "inspect" from the dropdown. This will open the developer's console of the browser.

You don't need to be scared of the gibberish that you will see once get to the developer's console. Just click on the sources tab at the top of the page.

Step 3: Download the Instagram photo on your local computer.

The image is usually between the cloud logo labeled 1 and 2 in the image below.

The image can be found in the folder labeled v/t51.2885-15. Keep opening up the folder to see the content until you get to the e35 folder and the s320x320.

Once the image is located, right-click on the image, and click on "save image as" to save the image on your local computer.

Congratulations, you have the photo on your computer.
